Merai Terms and Conditions

1. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Merai.
• By using Merai, you represent and warrant that you have the right, authority, and capacity to enter into these Terms.
• Merai is not available to users who have been suspended or removed for violations of these Terms or community safety.

2. Account Registration and Security

• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and OTP.
• You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
• Verification (including selfie scan, face match, or voice/video verification) may be required for full access to certain features.

3. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use Merai for any unlawful, harmful, or exploitative purposes.
• Harass, abuse, stalk, intimidate, or impersonate any person.
• Post offensive, obscene, discriminatory, or sexually explicit content.
• Engage in harmful behavior such as ghosting abuse, coercion, gaslighting, or manipulation (as flagged by Merai’s safety systems).
• Violate any intellectual property, privacy rights, or content licenses.
• Attempt to interfere with Merai’s functionality, security, or AI moderation systems.
• Circumvent safety features such as the Karma System, Red Flag Detector, or Relationship Mode.
• Use Merai to promote commercial products, services, or spam without our consent.

Merai reserves the right to suspend, limit, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.

4. Content Ownership and License

• You retain ownership of the content you post.
• By posting content on Merai, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute it within the app and for our promotional purposes.
• You agree not to post content that you do not have the legal rights to.
• We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or poses a safety risk.

5. In-App Purchases

• Certain features may require payment (e.g. advanced filters, premium community features).
• All purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by law.
• Prices and features are subject to change with prior notice.

6. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time.
• We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, community guidelines, or applicable law.
• Upon termination, your right to use Merai ceases immediately.

7. Safety, AI, and Moderation

• Merai uses automated systems (Karma, Red Flag Detector AI, toxicity filters, and ghosting prevention) to protect community safety.
• AI tools such as the Merai Co-Pilot and Chingu buddy are for advisory purposes only and do not replace your personal responsibility in communications.
• We may escalate flagged interactions to human moderators for review.
• By using Merai, you consent to such automated and human moderation for safety purposes.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

• Merai is provided “as is” and “as available.”
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, successful matches, or compatibility outcomes.
• We are not responsible for user-generated content, in-person interactions, or the outcomes of connections made through Merai.
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, Merai disclaims all liability for damages arising from your use of the app.

9. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Merai, its affiliates, employees, and partners from any claims, liabilities, or damages resulting from your use of the app or any violation of these Terms.

10. Privacy

Your use of Merai is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms.

11. International Use

• Merai is operated globally, and local laws may apply.
• You are responsible for compliance with your local laws and regulations.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

• These Terms are governed by the laws of India.
• Any disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in Hyderabad, India, under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.

13. Use of Chingu AI Companion

• By using Chingu, you acknowledge that it is an AI-based conversational tool and not a human or professional advisor.
• Chingu may make mistakes, misinterpret input, or generate incomplete responses. Merai makes no guarantees regarding its accuracy or reliability.
• Chingu is not intended to replace therapy, counseling, medical advice, legal advice, or emergency assistance. You are solely responsible for seeking professional services when needed.
• Your use of Chingu is voluntary and at your own risk. Merai shall not be held liable for any actions taken, decisions made, or consequences experienced as a result of Chingu interactions.
• To the fullest extent permitted by law, Merai disclaims all warranties, express or implied, regarding Chingu’s functionality or content.

14. Advertising and Promotions

• Merai may include advertisements, sponsored profiles, promotions, or branded content within the service. By using Merai, you agree that such advertising and promotions may be displayed.
• Merai is not responsible for your interactions with third-party advertisers. Any dealings with advertisers, including participation in promotions or the purchase of goods or services, are solely between you and the advertiser.
• Merai does not endorse, guarantee, or take responsibility for any third-party products, services, or promotions displayed within the app.
• Merai reserves the right to change the type, frequency, and placement of advertising without prior notice.

15. Corporate Access Terms (Merai Infinity)

If you are accessing Merai Infinity through your employer, company, or organization, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

• Limited employer role: your employer’s role is limited solely to providing you with access to Merai Infinity through an invitation or verification process.
• No employer liability: your employer has no responsibility, liability, or involvement in any of your activity, interactions, or content within the Merai Infinity application.
• Voluntary participation: your participation is entirely at your own discretion and based on personal free will.
• Privacy & data: your employer will never monitor, review, or have access to your profile, matches, messages, or activity within Merai Infinity.
• Governing policies: all of your interactions are governed solely by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, not by your employer’s policies.

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If changes are material, we will notify you through the app or by email before they take effect.
